CreatorRegister is a public creator identity registry that indexes publicly available creator profiles from platforms such as Twitch, Kick, and YouTube. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website at creatorregister.com.

By using CreatorRegister, you consent to the practices described in this policy. This policy applies to all visitors, registered creators, and anyone interacting with the Platform.

We collect the following types of information:

• Publicly Indexed Creator Data: Handles, profile URLs, and social links sourced from the public APIs and pages of Twitch, Kick, and YouTube.
• OAuth Verification Data: When you verify ownership of your profile via OAuth (Twitch, Kick, YouTube, or TikTok), we receive your platform username, a unique platform user ID, and the timestamp of verification. We do not store long-lived OAuth access tokens beyond what is required to complete the verification flow.
• Confirmed Social Links: Social media URLs you manually confirm or add during the confirm-socials step of your profile setup.
• Waitlist Signups: If you sign up for early access, we collect your email address, platform handle, and preferred platform.
• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, search queries, and timestamps, collected to operate and improve the Platform.
• Device & Session Data: IP address, browser type, and session cookies required for authentication and security.

We do not collect payments, billing information, or financial data through CreatorRegister.

We use collected information to:

• Operate the Registry: Display and maintain publicly indexed creator profiles, including social links and verification tiers.
• Verify Identity: Process OAuth verification events to establish that you are the legitimate owner of a profile.
• Correct & Enrich Profiles: Allow creators to confirm, correct, or add social links to their identity record.
• Platform Communications: Respond to enquiries and send account-related notifications to your verified email (where collected).
• Analytics & Improvement: Understand how the Platform is used to improve functionality.
• Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.

CreatorRegister is a public-facing registry. The following information on your profile is visible to anyone visiting the Platform:

• Your channel/display name and platform (Twitch, Kick, YouTube)
• Social links you have confirmed or that were publicly indexed
• Your verification tier (On Record, Owner Linked, or Verified)

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information as follows:

• Public Display: Profile data (as described above) is publicly visible on creatorregister.com.
• Third-Party Platforms: When you initiate OAuth verification, your browser is redirected to the relevant platform (Twitch, Kick, Google/YouTube, or TikTok). These platforms have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle your data during the OAuth flow.
• Service Providers: Trusted third parties who assist in operating the Platform (e.g., hosting, database providers), under strict confidentiality obligations.
• Legal Requirements: Where required by law, regulation, or legal process (e.g., court order), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Operator, our users, or others.
• Aggregated / Anonymised Data: We may share non-identifiable aggregated statistics (e.g., total verified creators by platform) for reporting or promotional purposes.

CreatorRegister integrates with the following platforms:

• Twitch: We use the Twitch Helix API to retrieve public channel data and to verify creator identity via OAuth. Subject to the Twitch Privacy Policy.
• YouTube / Google: We use the YouTube Data API v3 to retrieve public channel data and Google OAuth for identity verification. Subject to the Google Privacy Policy. You may revoke our access at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections.
• Kick: We retrieve public Kick channel data and support Kick OAuth for identity verification.
• TikTok: We support TikTok OAuth for adding your TikTok identity to your CreatorRegister profile. Subject to the TikTok Privacy Policy.

We use data from these platforms solely to build and verify creator identity records. We request only the minimum scopes necessary to verify ownership.

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Platform and fulfil the purposes described in this policy.

• Active Profiles: Publicly indexed profile data is retained while the Platform is active.
• Creator Accounts: Account and verification data is retained while your account is active.
• Deleted Accounts: Upon account deletion, we will de-identify or destroy your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
• Waitlist Data: Email addresses collected via the waitlist are retained until the waitlist programme concludes or you request removal.

In accordance with Australian Privacy Principle 11, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information that is no longer needed.

We use cookies and session storage to:

• Essential Cookies: Maintain your login session and secure the OAuth state flow (CSRF/PKCE tokens).
• Analytics: Understand how the Platform is used to make improvements.

You can manage cookies via your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent login and OAuth verification from functioning.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure, including secure servers and encrypted transmissions (HTTPS).

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)).

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Access: Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information. Verified creators can update social links directly from their dashboard.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing [email protected].
• Profile Removal: Request removal of your publicly indexed profile from the registry by contacting us.
• Revoke OAuth Access: Revoke CreatorRegister's OAuth access from your platform account settings at any time (e.g., Twitch connections, Google account settings).
• Opt Out of Waitlist: Email us to be removed from waitlist communications at any time.
• Complaints: If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, lodge a complaint with us at [email protected]. If unsatisfied, you may contact the OAIC at www.oaic.gov.au.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of CreatorRegister after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
